ACTIVITIES
Sports
The Teachers’ Sports Sub-Committee with Professor-in-Charge
(Sports) organizes sports teams with the help of Students’ Union to participate
in Inter-College sports tournaments under the Calcutta University as well as the
sports Directorate (DPI). Football, Cricket and Athletics are mainly encouraged.
Culture
Club & Other Clubs
Culture Club, Population Awareness Club & Eco-Nature
Club have been working to promote cultural harmony, awareness against AIDS &
environmental consciousness respectively among students and neighbourhoods.
Alumni Association
The College has set up the Alumni Association to
expedite the development work by means of donation and voluntary service.
Study Tour
(Excursion)
Departments arrange study tours of students to enrich
their practical knowledge.
Cricket, Football and Athletics are mainly encouraged.
Students’
Union
The College Students’ Union helps the students in
every way and cooperates with the College administration and the teachers.
Multi-Gym
The College ahs opened the multi-gym for both boys
and girls with token fees in order to develop their physical health.
NSS
The College has two NSS units – one for boys and
another for girls. It arranges some projects and awareness programme like literacy
campaign, AIDS awareness, plantation programme, disaster management projects,
adoption of village and bustee, annual camp etc.
Students
Health Home
The Regional Centre of the Student Health Home has
been set up in 2004 along with a clinic in association local IMA and local High
Schools and mass organizations to provide free treatment to the students of 40
schools and 4 colleges of the region.
NCC
The College has introduced NCC under the 39th
Bengal NCC Battalion both for boys and girls to promote discipline and strengthen
civil defence. The NCC Cadets have an access to regular parade & drill, and
annual camp programme.
